“The partnership with 21 Investimenti has been fruitful beyond expectations, and they have been exceptionally supportive through all this time together.”

Andrea Cipolloni
CEO of PittaRosso
Founded in the 1920’s by the Pittarello family, PittaRosso was acquired in 2011.
During the holding period, 21 Investimenti led the transition from a family run to a corporate business, thereby enabling the company to reach its full growth potential, recording double digit growth in sales and becoming the indisputable leader in Italy in its reference market.

Under the stewardship of 21 Investimenti Pittarosso invested more than €M 50 to expand its store network in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and France, with 67 new openings to reach a total of 120 stores. Moreover, the company more than doubled the number of its employees, progressing from 630 at entry to 1300 at exit.

In January 2015, 21 Investimenti sold 90% of its stake in PittaRosso, a leading Italian family segment shoe retailer, to Lion Capital.

The acceleration of growth allowed Pittarosso to promote significant social initiatives in the communities in which it operates

Each year PittaRosso sponsors 'Pink is Good', a breast cancer support initiative of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation in Italy. In support of this initiative, PittaRosso annually holds the 'Pink Parade', a 5km charity run. All profits from the event are dedicated to the initiative, aimed at financing researchers in the field of breast cancer and to raise awareness amongst the general public about the prevention and importance of quick diagnosis.
